ABSTRACT

Restless legs syndrome is one of the common non-motor symptoms of Parkinson′s disease. Previous studies on Parkinson′s disease with comorbid restless legs syndrome generated mixed results. This article reviews the studies on Parkinson′s disease with restless legs syndrome on aspects of its pathophysiology, epidemiology, clinical symptoms, genetics and biomarkers, radiology and treatment, aiming to provide physicians a comprehensive understanding on the characteristics of two entities.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE:To explore the mo lecular mechanism of Chaihu shugan powder in the adjunctive treatment of major depressive disorder (MDD). METHODS :Network pharmacology was adopted. The microarray dataset GSE 76826 was downloaded from GEO common database ,and the limma package was used to screen the differently expressed genes in the samples of MDD patients. The active ingredients and corresponding targets of Chaihu shugan powder were screened out based on TCMSP platform. Through the online software venny 2.1.0,the differently expressed genes of MDD and the targets of Chaihu shugan powder were screened, and the common target genes of Chaihu shugan powder for MDD were obtained. The target genes were introduced into Cytoscape 3.6.1 software to construct the network diagram of “Chaihu shugan powder active ingredients-MDD target gene ”. Then , BisoGenet plug-in was used to construct the PPI network ,analyze the topological structure and screen the core target gene. KEGG pathway analysis was conducted. RESULTS :There were 139 active components of Chaihu shugan powder for the treatment of MDD,including quercetin ,kaempferol, luteolin, stigmasterol, etc. There were 8 core target genes ,including NR3C2,DPP4, ALOX5,GSTM1,CCND1,IGFBP3 and so on. They play an important role in the treatment of MDD via signaling pathway such as regulating cell receptor ,purine metabolism ,steroid biosynthesis ,aminoacyl biosynthesis ,etc. CONCLUSIONS :Chaihu shugan powder can play a role in the adjunctive treatment of MDD through multiple targets and pathways ,which can provide a theoretical basis for the follow-up study of its mechanism.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the source of human infection H9N2 avian influenza virus (AIV). Methods Environmental AIV nucleic acid monitoring was conducted for live poultry markets in Changsha city from 2014 to 2015, and data of human infection H9N2 subtype AIV cases worldwide were collected. Phylogenetic trees of hemagglutinin(HA), neuraminidase(NA)and non-structural protein(NS)genes from human infection H9N2 subtype AIV, the live poultry markets environmental H9N2 subtype AIV and partial avian H9N2 subtype AIV were constructed using the MEGA 6.06 software, respectively. Results In 2014-2015, H9 subtype AIV had the highest nucleic acid positive rate (44.76%) in the live poultry markets environment of Changsha city, and the pollution was serious. A total of 27 cases of human infection with H9N2 subtype AIV had been reported worldwide, and most of these patients recovered after treatments.Epidemiological survey showed that 59.26% (16/27) of cases had a clear history of exposure to poultry or live poultry markets. The phylogenetic trees of HA, NA and NS genes showed that the human infection H9N2 subtype AIV isolates isolated from Hunan and Guangdong were closely related to the H9N2 subtype AIV isolated from the live poultry markets environment in Hunan and Guangdong provinces from 2013 to 2016. The nucleotide similarity was as high as 97%-99%. Conclusion Live poultry market is one of the sources of human infection with H9N2 influenza virus.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE@#To compare the clinical effect of acupuncture at "three points of iliolumbar" combined with celecoxib and celecoxib alone in the treatment of iliopsoas muscle strain.@*METHODS@#A total of 60 patients with iliopsoas muscle strain were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group, 30 patients in each group. Celecoxib was given orally to both groups, 200 mg once a day for 3 days. On the basis of the above drugs, acupuncture was applied at (Extra), Wushu (GB 27), (Extra) in the observation group, once a day for 3 days. The Japanese Orthopaedic Association (JOA) score and visual analogue scale (VAS) score were observed and compared before and after treatment, and the content of 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) in serum was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) before and after treatment in the two groups.@*RESULTS@#After treatment, the JOA scores in the two groups were increased (both <0.05), and the VAS scores and 5-HT contents were decreased (all <0.05). The increase of JOA score in the observation group was greater than that in the control group (<0.05), and the decrease of VAS score and 5-HT content in the observation group was greater than that in the control group (both <0.05).@*CONCLUSION@#Acupuncture at "three points of ilioumbar" combined with celecoxib in the treatment of iliopsoas muscle strain can improve lumbar function, relieve pain and reduce 5-HT content in serum, which is better than celecoxib alone.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE@#To explore the main reasons of medical malpractice of fetal abnormalities and to analyze the key points and the ideas in judicial appraisal.@*METHODS@#According to the related laws, regulations and clinical practice guidelines, the medical faults and the contribution degree in 12 medical malpractice cases about fetal abnormalities were analyzed.@*RESULTS@#There were medical faults in five cases. Among them, the doctors did not fulfill the duty of inform in 2 cases, did not analyze the abnormal results comprehensively in 2 cases, did not have qualified medical conditions and normative reports in 1 case. The hospitals needed to take the minor responsibility in 2 cases and slight responsibility in 2 cases.@*CONCLUSION@#The key points in the judicial appraisal are whether the doctors abide by the related laws, regulations and clinical practice guidelines in prenatal examination, screen and diagnosis, and whether the doctors realize the limitations of ultrasonic testing and fulfill the obligation of inform.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVETo compare the difference of therapeutic effects between vessel pricking therapy and Prednisone for treatment of Henoch-Schonlein purpura nephritis.

METHODSSeventy cases of acute purpura nephritis syndrome were randomly divided into an observation group (40 cases) and a control group (30 cases). Patients in observation group were differentiated into sthenia and asthenia syndromes. Vessel pricking therapy was applied at Hegu (LI 4), Quchi (LI 11), Xuehai (SP 10) etc. by triangular needle for sthenia symptom; shallow needling was used at Pishu (BL 20), Shenshu (BL 23), Zusanli (ST 36) etc. by filiform needle. The control group was treated with oral admi-nidtration of Prednisone. The symptom score of TCM, 24 h urinary protein, red blood cell count of urinary sediment of both groups were observed before and after treatment and therapeutic effects were compared.

RESULTSThe total effective rate of 92.5% (37/40) in observation group was superior to that of 80.0% (24/30) in control group, and there was a significant difference between two groups (P < 0.05); the symptom score of TCM, 24 h urinary protein, red blood cell count of urinary sediment were all improved in both groups after treatment (all P < 0.05), and moreover, the improvement in observation group was superior to that of control group (all P < 0.05); after treatment, the symptom score of TCM of sthenia syndrome was lower than that of asthenia syndrome in observation group (P < 0.05).

CONCLUSIONVessel pricking therapy has a significant therapeutic effect for treatment of Henoch-Schonlein purpura nephritis, superior to that of oral administration of Prednisone, and the therapeutic effect is better for treating sthenia syndrome than for asthenia syndrome.
